On Tuesday July 28, 2009, at 11:00 in the Sala Azzurra of the City Hall of Trieste (piazza dell'Unita' d'Italia) the 10th European Day of Jewish Culture - to be celebrated September 5-6 in Trieste - will be presented in a press conference.

The 10th European Day of Jewish Culture (celebrated in unison in 28 European countries and 59 Italian cities) is organized by the Jewish Community of Trieste together with the WeDoCARE Association; on this occasion, the Jewish community will open its doors to the city and share its spaces with the citizens of Trieste.

On the weekend of September 5th and 6th, the city will be offered debates, cultural explorations, music and art exhibitions focused on launching a common message that recalls our fundamental duty to welcome, respect and understand the other.

The press conference will feature:

• Andrea Mariani, President of the Jewish Community;
• Roberto Dipiazza, Mayor of Trieste;
• Roberto Molinaro, Councilor for Culture of the Fruili Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region;
• Maria Teresa Bassa Poropat, , President of the Trieste Province;
• Antonio Paoletti, President of the Trieste Chamber of Commerce;
• Piero Camber, President of the Regional Cultural Commission;
• Ron Fremder, Organizer of the Event for WeDoCARE Association;
  
• Nicoletta Gaida, President of the Glocal Forum Italy Foundation.
